MUSICAL STORIES
Books form the starting point for a musical activity tailored to the children’s ages and developmental stages. With baby books, the focus is on looking, feeling, listening and experiencing music together. We bring picture books and kamishibai stories to life with songs, wordless music, movement, sounds and real instruments.
The activity can connect to a book from your collection, a library theme or campaign, or a story we select together.

From BoekStart and the Nationale Voorleesdagen to the Kinderboekenweek or a local library theme: we tailor the music, books and activities to the programme and the children’s ages.
Training & materials
We help libraries use music not only during our workshops, but also independently and on an ongoing basis.
Musical storytime
How can you use singing, movement, rhythm, sounds and simple instruments during an activity with books? In this practical training, staff discover how to bring baby books, picture books and kamishibai stories to life through music.
Participants receive ideas they can use straight away and experience how music can strengthen attention, language development, sensory exploration and interaction with children and parents. No musical experience is needed.
INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIALS
Which instruments are safe, durable and enjoyable to use with babies, toddlers and young children? We can advise you on putting together a suitable collection and can also supply the instruments.
If desired, we can combine the instrument set with training, so staff know how to use the materials with books, songs and storytime activities.
Practical
From babies to young children, with or without a parent or carer. We agree on the age group, duration and group size in advance.
A one-off workshop, several activities throughout the year, staff training or a combination of these.
We connect to your collection, campaign or chosen theme and discuss which books, instruments and materials are needed.
